Auburn basketball signs guard Malcolm Canada

AUBURN, Ala. – Malcolm Canada, who averaged 20.2 points per game and was a Third Team All-America at Ellsworth Community College, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play at Auburn for the 2013-14 season, head basketball coach Tony Barbee announced on Wednesday.

Canada shot 44.2 percent from the field and averaged 5.2 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game last season. A 6-foot-3 point guard from Austin, Texas, he led the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference in assists, points scored, field goals and free throws made. He ended the season ranked fifth in free throws made (162), 12th in points scored (625) and 17th in assists (162).
