New Sand Hill Patton Village Express store opens on Ft. Benning

FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) -

Wednesday was an exciting day for families in the Patton Village housing area at Fort Benning.

They spent the morning celebrating the grand opening of the new Sand Hill Patton Village Express store.

Garrison Commander Huerter was there and gave a speech about how important this new store is. He says before this location, people in the area had to drive clear across post for milk and other necessities.

"We are very excited about it, the community is very excited about it, we have some guests that have actually been watching the progress each day in anticipation of the grand opening and today is the day, and they are very excited about it," said General Manager Vincent James.

Family members who live in the area came up with the idea the idea to have the new store in this location.

This is the seventh express on post. It's open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on weekends from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
