ANDALUSIA, AL (WSFA) -

An investigation into the conduct of several City of Andalusia Sewer/Water Department employees is underway.

Mayor Earl Johnson, who is also Chairman of the city's utilities board, made the request of the Andalusia Police Department.

There are many unanswered questions surrounding the investigation, and Mayor Johnson says there will not be a report until the probe is complete. He says that process could take 7 to 10 days.

Mayor Johnson would confirm there have been no arrests.

There are only 12-15 employees in the department. The police department has executed search warrants and secured some evidence, but the specific items seized have not been identified.

The investigation does not impact the health or safety of Andalusia's citizens, the mayor said.

Once the investigation concludes, it will be reviewed by the District Attorney's office.
