The "CAMPAIGN for QUESTPLEX" was launched Thursday during a news conference in downtown Montgomery. Montgomery officials and city leaders shared their vision and capital campaign goals for Questplex, a global education and discovery center, which is scheduled to break ground in September. The center is a collaboration of the City of Montgomery, the Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library and The Children's Museum of Alabama.

Since its inception, Questplex has been envisioned as more than just a library and children's museum. The campaign theme, Knowledge Knows No Boundaries, is part of a vision statement outlining how life-long learning will be taken globally and to higher levels.

As Questplex is developed, it will be the first in the country to house a global, state-of-the-art learning center for all ages. The global education and learning center is expected to have a huge impact on Alabama's children, as well as to Montgomery and the state at large.

The campaign goal of $5.5 million was announced during the news conference. Officials stated $174,000 has already been raised towards the goal. A commitment to the development of Questplex was reaffirmed during the news conference and encouraged participation of our entire community, from businesses to individuals. Area businesses and the media were challenged to get involved and invited to take advantage of naming and sponsorship opportunities available.

Officials and leaders on hand at the campaign kickoff held at 129 Coosa in downtown Montgomery included Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange, Montgomery County Commission Chairman Elton Dean, Questplex acting Campaign Director Colin Coyne, Questplex Foundation Chair Tootsie Emmet and representatives from the Montgomery City-County Public Library and The Children's Museum of Alabama.

About Questplex

At Questplex, knowledge will have no boundaries. The new Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library at Questplex and The Children's Museum of Alabama have come together to achieve a global education and discovery center for life-long learning. The facility will be situated at One Dexter Plaza by the Court Square fountain, facing Alabama's State Capitol building and cover a city block of 144,000 square feet. For more information or to join the quest through one of the many naming sponsorship opportunities, visit www.questplex.org.
