Ron Blair murder trial Day 4: Columbus official helped catch accused killer

Posted: Updated:

An accused killer returned to the scene of the crime and we've now learned he was spotted by a Columbus official.

It's day 4 of the Ron Blair murder trial. Blair is accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Keon Coleman.

News Leader 9's Brittany Dionne has been following the trial.

Ron Blair was preparing to open a night club on Broadway at the old location of Hookah Me Up bar and Mix Ultra Lounge.

The business is just steps away from where he's accused of shooting Keon Coleman in the head.

It happened in the early morning hours of March 25, 2012. Later that morning, Blair returned to his business where he was spotted by city official Richard Bishop.

Bishop says he was on Broadway cleaning up the crime scene when he noticed Blair.

Bishop stalled Blair until police arrived on the scene. Once detectives arrived on the scene, Blair took off running, right out of his shoes according to investigator testimony.
