COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Both sides have rested their cases in the murder trial of Ron Blair and the jury is deliberating until 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Blair is accused of fatally shooting a Phenix City teen in downtown Columbus last year.

In a profanity-laced testimony, accused killer Ron Blair told the chilling details of the night he shot and killed 19-year-old Keon Coleman.

During the argument between Blair's friend Joseph Coleman – known as JJ – and the victim Keon Coleman, Blair testified everything escalated when JJ called him by his street name "Goldie."

Blair says the victim began to curse and swear at him calling him a "snitch" for being a witness in a 2004 murder trial against someone the victim allegedly knew.

Blair says the victim began to approach him and says an instant fear took over his body. He testified the victim's friend was urging him to shoot Blair.

Coleman was shot once in the head. He died hours later at the Medical Center.
