GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, AZ (CBS5) -

A woman whose body was found on a trail in the Grand Canyon National Park on Sunday has been identified as a Fredricksburg, VA, resident.

Sibylle Borger, 48, was with a group of four other people on the first day of a multi-day backcountry hiking excursion, according to a park news release.

She was found unconscious about three-quarters of a mile above Phantom Ranch on South Kaibab Trail. Park rangers unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate her. Her body was flown to the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office and the National Park Service is investigating, according to the release.
