Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller announced during the City Council meeting that APR is expanding and will add more jobs in the near future.

APR plans a 42,000 square foot addition to its existing facility located along Highway 280. It will be adding manufacturing and non-manufacturing equipment as well. The capital investment for the project will be over $4 million with plans to hire an additional 50 employees over the next three years, 25 of which will be added within year 1. Currently, APR has over 70 employees.

APR is an automotive engineering firm that was founded in 1997. It builds highly engineered aftermarket performance parts available for Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT and Skoda vehicles.

APR began operations in a small building located on Opelika Road. Since then, APR has grown.  In 2007, APR relocated to its current 36,000 sq ft. performance and manufacturing facility in Opelika and is now beginning an additional expansion that will add 42,000 sq feet.

"I would like to thank Mayor Fuller and the City of Opelika for their continued support on this project," APR's President, Stephen Hooks, said. "APR is grateful for the chance to grow with the City of Opelika and we are very excited the new opportunities that this expansion will bring."

Mayor Fuller congratulated APR for their success and thanked President Stephen Hooks for his continued investment and confidence in Opelika, "We are thrilled for your company's success and hope this additional investment will enable you to build upon that success. Thank you for your confidence in Opelika!"
