MPD Investigating Fatal Traffic Crash

The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle traffic crash that resulted in one fatality. The crash occurred at about 23:27 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, in the 3400 block of Old Hayneville Road.

The driver of the vehicle, Benjamin Boni Vazquez, 28, of Montgomery was pronounced dead on the scene. MPD's investigation indicates the vehicle, a 2005 Jeep Ford Explorer, lost control and made contact with an intact utility pole.

Accident investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash, and no further information is available for release at this time. This is the city of Montgomery's tenth traffic fatality of 2013.
