PITTSBURG, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas man has been nominated to become the "Best Dad on Wheels", but he needs your vote to capture the title.

Pittsburg dad Jason Hammonds has been flooded with emails and phone calls, all supporting him in the "Best Dad on Wheels" contest.

"My son, my fiancee, and my kids have all been emailing others and trying to get it out on social networking sites," says the proud father.

Hammonds was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident in 2006, but he has not let that slow him down. He likes to stay active and even coaches his daughter's softball team.

"It doesn't matter if it's two hours away, an hour and a half, or 30 minutes away, he's there. He's there for all the tournaments, football games, basketball games, baseball, anything I play," says Hammond's daughter.

His children nominated him for the "Best Dad on Wheels" title, and people from as far away as California and Mississippi have responded with support. For Hammonds, winning isn't the only thing that's important.

"Win or lose, it doesn't matter. It's what my kids think and my family thinks. I am blessed, I truly am," says Hammonds.
