COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

One lucky man is raving over a Georgia Lottery win worth $445,431 from a free Fantasy 5 ticket. Curdy Dortch Sr., 61, matched all 5 numbers from the July 1st Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the jackpot prize.

Dortch received his lucky ticket from C-Mart, 4206 Victory Drive in Columbus, from matching two out of five winning numbers from a previous Fantasy 5 drawing.

The father of two claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Columbus.

"I looked at the results in the (Columbus) Ledger-Enquirer," said Dortch, a Smiths Station, Ala., resident. "I was ecstatic, really. I was so excited that I couldn't believe it."

Dortch is a recreation assistant at Fort Benning. He plans to provide for his wife, Brigitte.

"I want to do for my wife," Dortch shared. "We'll purchase a home and fix it how she wants it."

Winning numbers from the July 1st Fantasy 5 drawing were: 13-15-22-27-37.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program.
