Family of thieves arrested for stealing copper pipes from AU

According to the Auburn Police Division, three people have been arrested in connection to the theft of copper pipes from a construction site at the Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine located in the 1100 block of Wire Road. 

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2013, officers responded to the location in reference to the report from a witness of a possible burglary in progress. 

Upon arrival officers took brothers Jacob D. Sanes, 23, of Phenix City, Alabama, and Joshua R. Sanes, age 25, of Seale, Ala. into custody. Jacob Sanes' wife, Alissa M. Sanes, 22, was located in a vehicle a short distance away and also taken into custody. 

The three are charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property 2nd Degree.  Joshua Sanes was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

The suspects were transported to the Lee County Detention Center where Jabob and Alissa Sanes bond was set at $6,000 each and Joshua Sanes at $6,500.
