SURPRISE, AZ (CBS5/AP) -

A man and woman are in custody in connection with thefts from retail stores throughout Maricopa County.

Kevin Elliott Green, 42, and Kayla Renee Vance, 21, are being held on suspicion of several counts of organized retail theft, Surprise police said Wednesday.

Two suspects allegedly stole items valued at more than $15,000, police said.

Surprise police said they began investigating Green and Vance after the two allegedly were involved in the theft of televisions from a Sam's Club.

An investigation showed both suspects allegedly were involved in similar retail thefts around Arizona's most populous county.

Surprise police served a search warrant at a home in the area of 14300 N. 83rd Ave. in Peoria, where Green and Vance were arrested.
