PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A 27-year-old Peoria man has been accused of threatening to kill Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in a YouTube post and on other occasions.

Frederick Joseph Cusick was arrested at his home and charged Monday after an investigation involving the sheriff's office and FBI, according to an MCSO news release.

A citizen contacted both organizations in June after seeing a comment on YouTube in which the poster indicated he would target Arpaio to qualify for a $2 million bounty to be paid by a Mexican drug cartel for the murder of Arpaio, according to the release.

Cusick allegedly said in his Youtube post that Arpaio was a racist and that Cusick and his "boys" had an arsenal of "powerful weapons" to ensure that Arpaio "wouldn't be around much longer," according to the sheriff's office.

Further investigation revealed Cusick allegedly made several threats against Arpaio, according to the release.

Cusick was in the Lower Buckeye Jail on a $3,600 bond.

Cusick is the third suspect charged this year for making threats against Arpaio, an MCSO official said.

Another threat this year was a mail bomb addressed to Arpaio that was intercepted by postal workers in Flagstaff in April. A federal investigation into that situation is on-going.
