(WTVM) - A unique gun buy-back project is offering people a laptop in exchange for a firearm.
In recent weeks a surge in shooting and murders have plagued the city of Baltimore. The non-profit organization, Digital All Systems, supplied computers for residents willing to give up a gun in hopes of making the streets safer.
"We just feel like if you walk away with computers and additional equipment and resources, that is a way to stop violence in the city," says Angela Johnese, from the Mayor's Office.
About 50 guns were collected so far. All of the weapons turned in are expected to be destroyed.
