New Execution Date Set for Georgia Death Row Inmate - At 11

Good Evening I'm Barbara Gauthierin the WTVM Newsroom.  Here's your exclusive look at some of the stories we're working on right now for Newsleader 9 at11.

A new execution date has been set for convicted murderer Warren Lee Hill.  He was originally scheduled to die on Monday but the execution was stayed temporarily so a judge could consider a legal challenge from Hill's attorneys.  A hearing on that challenge is scheduled for Thursday.  Depending on what the judge decides, the Georgia death row inmate could be executed on Friday.

Plus - guns are coming to an East Alabama school and parents are happy about it! An Auburn private school's plan to hire an armed city police officer to walk the school's hallways has been approved by the Auburn City Council.  Parents at Lee-Scott Academy will foot the bill to cover the officer's 45-thousand dollar salary.

And farmers across the country and families who rely on food stamps are both looking to Washington as the debate on the new farm bill rages on.  We talked with local farmers about how they would be impacted by the new bill.

Join us for these stories and much more tonight on Newsleader 9 at 11.
