COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus residents turned out to support Project Lifesaver on July 17.
The program helps authorities find missing people, especially those suffering mental diseases such as Alzheimer's and Autism.
Muscogee Co. Sheriff's Deputies were at Ruby Tuesday's on Veteran's Pwy. to teach more about Project Lifesaver.
According to the Project Lifesaver website, those enrolled in the program wear a small personal transmitter that emits a tracking signal. If that person were to go missing the signal is sent out to their caregiver, who can notify police of their whereabouts.
