PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Fire investigators are trying to determine what sparked a blaze that displaced up to a dozen residents of a Phoenix apartment complex.

The fire at 2930 W. Camelback Rd. started in a vacant apartment, said Phoenix Fire Capt. Larry Nunez.

Three of the 12 apartments at the complex sustained damage, Nunez said.

The utilities to all 12 units had to be turned off while firefighters attacked the blaze.

The cause remains under investigation.
