AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - As the world continues to marvel over the birth of the new royal prince, one east Alabama woman, originally from Britain, is joining in on the celebration from across the pond.
Aldonna Mann lives with her family in Auburn. Even though she moved away from Britain over 20 years ago, she says the royal birth marks a great day to be a Brit.
"I just loved the wedding so I was a William and Kate fan anyway, but then this baby, I mean any baby is just a joy and its just so thrilling. He has all the fingers and toes and just a happy occasion. This month we won Wimbledon and that was wonderful and now a baby, you can't really beat that for a Brit," says Mann.
Mann had the opportunity to meet Prince Charles and Princess Diana many years ago.
She says Diana set the new standard for motherhood in the royal family and believes Kate will follow in her footsteps.
