MCSD Board officially hires David Lewis as new Superintendent

Members of the Muscogee County School Board voted unanimously today, July 23, to hire David Lewis as the new Superintendent for the Muscogee County School District.

Lewis' appointment is now official after a 15-month long, nationwide search for a candidate to fill the position.

The official vote came 14 days after the School Board selected Lewis as the only finalist for the position. Lewis begins his duties immediately.

Lewis' salary for Superintendent is expected to be $170,000.

John Philips will serve as his assistant for the month of August.
