Columbus man running for U.S. Senate

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus resident is throwing his hat in the ring for the U.S. Senate.

At the government center in Columbus Monday, Todd Robinson announced he is running to replace retiring U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss.

We got a chance to talk with Robinson about how he feels Georgia needs a fresh face to bring new ideas to Washington.

Robinson is the second Democrat to declare his candidacy after Branko Radlovaki, who announced his plans to run earlier this year. Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss announced earlier that he would not seek a third term in 2014. Six Republicans have also announced they will run for Chambliss' seat.

Todd Robinson is married to WTVM news anchor Cheryl Renee.
