Kendrick High School wins Outstanding High School award

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Congratulations to Kendrick High School in Columbus. The school is this year's winner of the Outstanding High School award.

Kendrick was one of only 19 schools in the country, and the only one in Georgia to receive the 2013 Outstanding School Award.

The award is based on the success of local school leaders and teachers in improving the quality of experiences and academic performance of students.

Dave Spence, president of the Southern Regional Education Board, said Kendrick "illustrates the spirit of change that the 'High Schools That Work' program advocates to get students ready" for college and beyond.
