NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

An unattended suitcase that contained drugs was found at the downtown Nashville Greyhound bus.

Security discovered more than 3,400 pills in a red suitcase on Wednesday. After investigating, Melvin Franklin, 24, was arrested in connection with the case.

Forty-nine plastic bags of hydrocodone and Lortab pills were found rolled up in the legs of blue jeans inside the luggage.

Security replaced the bag with a similar looking one and waited until the owner returned to claim it. When Franklin came to retrieve it, police took him into custody. He told police he was taking the pills from Michigan to Memphis.
