PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - Alabama Governor Robert Bentley made a stop by Phenix City on Thursday.
The Republican governor is on his "Road to Economic Recovery Tour."
Bentley toured Phenix City Hall and the Russell County Courthouse while in town.
As part of his tour, he discussed local economic conditions and efforts to bring jobs to Alabama with city leaders.
This week Bentley announced an additional $372 million will head to the state for Alabama's road building initiative.
The project injects about a billion dollars into highways and bridges in 42 counties overall.
Bentley says this will help bring much-needed jobs to the state.
