Northern advances to state little league finals

RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (WTVM) - The Northern All-Stars rallied from a 3-run first-inning deficit to beat Cartersville 4-3 in the Georgia Little League state semifinals on Thursday morning at Richmond Hill Park.

Northern's bats came alive in the third inning. After an Austin Hicks fielder's choice brought in Cole Pettis with the first run, Trent Grantham singled home Hicks to cut the deficit to 3-2. Noah Lee completed the comeback by hitting a two-run homer to center field.

Colby Brabston picked up the victory in relief, going five scoreless innings while surrendering three hits and striking out 12.

Northern advances to the state championship game, where they will face Warner Robins American East. Warner Robins reached the finals with an 11-1 win over Martinez-Evans National.

First pitch in the championship game is set for Friday at 10 a.m.
