NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police say they captured two people suspected of breaking into at least two homes and a vehicle early Tuesday in the Belle Meade area.

An officer stopped a car traveling without its headlights along Brookfield Avenue, and the officer noticed the driver and passenger matched the description of the suspects in one of the burglaries.

A search of the driver, Betty Small-Vandolen, 27, revealed a loaded, stolen handgun along with other stolen items, including a checkbook.

Police also found latex gloves and a window punch in the suspects' car.

Small-Vandolen is charged with two counts of home burglary, one count of auto burglary, unlawful gun possession and possession of burglary tools.

The passenger, Billy Ray Perry, 21, is charged with two counts of home burglary, one count of auto burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Police say additional burglary charges are anticipated.
