Exclusive Preview of News at 5 & 6

Good evening! This is Jason Dennis in the WTVM newsroom. Here's what we are working on for the news at 5 and 6...

24 hours after a Columbus police officer lost his life, the city's police chief and Russell County sheriff both talk about the fallen hero and a deputy who's still recovering after the deadly wreck on Veterans Parkway. Hear what they had to say. We also look deeper into the life and accomplished career of Corporal Keith Slay, including a dramatic event in the line of duty more than 20 years ago.

If you saw someone fall off or get thrown off a bridge in Columbus today, don't panic. It was most likely a dummy. We'll show you the video and tell you all about Columbus Fire and EMS training on the river this week.

The West Georgia Dixie baseball league is fairly new, but now their players have brought a national championship home. We'll have highlights from today's World Series title game, including a big comeback.

Tell your friends, then join us for these stories and more tonight at 5 and 6!

See ya then,

 Jason Dennis
