MCSD Verification Days helps families get ready for back to school

MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -

As any parent or grandparent will tell you, getting kids ready to go back-to-school can be a challenge.

The Muscogee County School District is trying to make it easier with its Verification Day. School starts next Wednesday August 7, but this Friday August 2 is Verification Day for the district.

Parents and their kids should report to their assigned school to register, get bus schedule information and verify school assignment.

"They need their student's records, you have to have their birth certificate, their social security card, you also need their immunization record when you come in and any records in reference to their report card especially if their out of district," said Valerie Fuller, MCSD Director of Communications.

Fuller says if you can't make Verification Day, the central office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday, or you can go to the school to register if you know the school assignment based on your legal residency address.

We should note Richards Middle School's Verification Day is Thursday August 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hardaway High School.
