Columbus Parks and Recreation meets with community to create plan


Columbus residents voiced their input on how to improveattendance at Senior centers in our community.

Today's Meeting for Columbus Parks and Recreation was thethird of four focus groups.

Holli Bowder, Assistant Director of Columbus Parks andRecreation, says these meetings are helping to shape the future of parks aroundthe Chattahoochee Valley. "We want to make sure that we have a comprehensive masterplan, which will represent the next 20 years for recreation, not only forseniors and multicultural, but for our kids, for our adults, for the communityas a whole. And one of the things that we need to focus on is the need forrecreation, and the need for possibly more facilities, or more equipment, ormore green space," she says.

Columbus District three Councilman Bruce Huff and Directorof Columbus Parks and Recreation Department James Worsley were both inattendance to listen to senior residents.

This effort is to help with accreditation for Columbus Parksand Recreation.
