Columbus Parks and Recreation meets with community to create plan

Posted: Updated:

Columbus residents voiced their input on how to improve attendance at Senior centers in our community.

Today's Meeting for Columbus Parks and Recreation was the third of four focus groups.

Holli Bowder, Assistant Director of Columbus Parks and Recreation, says these meetings are helping to shape the future of parks around the Chattahoochee Valley. "We want to make sure that we have a comprehensive master plan, which will represent the next 20 years for recreation, not only for seniors and multicultural, but for our kids, for our adults, for the community as a whole. And one of the things that we need to focus on is the need for recreation, and the need for possibly more facilities, or more equipment, or more green space," she says.

Columbus District three Councilman Bruce Huff and Director of Columbus Parks and Recreation Department James Worsley were both in attendance to listen to senior residents.

This effort is to help with accreditation for Columbus Parks and Recreation.
