Auburn woman arrested, charged with using stolen credit card to make purchases

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - An Auburn woman has been arrested following reports of a stolen credit card.

The Auburn Police Department arrested Lakyhia Nuashae Askew, 31, on a felony warrant charging her with second degree theft of property.

Her arrest stems from an investigation of a police report dated August 5, 2013 in which the victim stated that someone stole her bank issued credit card after she left it in a restaurant in the 1500 block of South College Street in Auburn.  The credit card was used at multiple businesses in Camp Hill and Opelika, Alabama to make purchases.

The arrest is the result of a joint investigation and assistance from the Opelika Police Department.   Askew was transported to the Lee County Jail where her bond was set at $3,000.
