Man accused of attacking officer with sledgehammer changes plea to guilty

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus man accused of attacking a Columbus police officer with a sledgehammer changed his plea to guilty.

Kenneth Hendricks has been behind bars in Muscogee County since October. He is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, obstruction of a police officer and DUI.

He originally pleaded not guilty, but changed that plea Monday to guilty on all counts.

He has been sentenced to five years in jail.
