Lee County, Ga. students who ride the bus home were given bottles of water before they left Monday because of long, hot bus rides.

Melissa Seybold was concerned about her four sons after they were an hour late getting home on the first day of school. School administrators say traffic congestion caused the delays. They encourage parents to stay off the roads and let their children ride the bus.

"It's going to help the traffic, once the parents quit bringing their children. So let us transport them," says Ricky Canterbury, Lee Co. Schools Director of Transportation.

Transportation officials say traffic gets worse every year as more people move into Lee County. They say traffic problem gets better after a first few days of school.
