Lee County, GA (WTVM) - Georgia State Patrol could get new high-tech radar devices. Leaders asked Lee County Commissioners to buy them.
Troopers say they'll use the devices to catch speeders in Lee County, which will make the roads safer and bring in more revenue for the county from speeding tickets.
"It will help us do our job effectively because we will be getting speeders and all the other type of violations off the road," says Sgt. Shawn Urquhart.
The State Patrol is asking the county to chip in and buy two radar units that are more advanced than what troopers use now.
