Illegal dumping becoming a problem in Dougherty Co.

Posted: Updated:

A Dougherty Co. woman accused of illegal dumping made it pretty easy for code enforcers to catch her. Investigators say Amanda Webb dumped nearly a dozen bags of trash near the old Bob's Candies plant in Albany.

Code enforcement officers found all sorts of documents with her name and address inside the trash bags. The director of Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful says illegal dumping is getting out of control.

"We got tires that are breeding mosquitos, and we probably have rodents and we have snakes. It's a safety issue as well as a visual," says director Judy Bowles.

Webb was cited and ordered to appear in court.

Illegal dumping can result in fines, community service, even jail time for a second offense.
