Brother of Valley, AL shooting victim describes "Miracle of God"

(WTVM) -

Ken Hudmon, the brother of Chuck Hudmon who was shot at a Valley Ala. gas station, says the outlook was very bleak at the hospital yesterday. Now, the Triangle Service Station Owner is out of surgery, sitting up in bed and talking.

Ken says his brother Chuck is an easy-going guy who wouldn't hurt anyone. Their family has owned the business for nearly 54 years, and this was the first time the grocery and convenience story was robbed.

Chuck Hudson was hit over the head, and shot in the shoulder by two men, and his Ken says it could be described as a "magic bullet".

"It's my understanding that it hit the shoulder and actually went into an artery," Ken Hudmon describes. "What we understand is it was still hot and cauterized the artery, which is what basically kept him from bleeding to death. Then, the bullet actually traveled through the heart, according to the doctor. In the artery, it traveled through the heart, and instead of going up, which is what it normally does, and causing a stroke, it went down. And it wound-up lodging down close to his leg, and they were able to get it out today."

"It's amazing what the bullet did, and the path that it took, and the hand of God was all over it," he continued. "I don't know anything else to say."

As for the investigation into the robbery and shooting, the Valley Police Department says it is no longer considering the gold extented cab truck as the suspect vehicle involved in a morning robbery.

The first suspect is described as tall and muscular, wearing an orange shirt. The second suspect is short.

The Valley area Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of $2,000 for any information leading to an arrest in this case.
