FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - Fort Benning's Sledgehammer Brigade opens the doors to its behavioral health clinic.
Tuesday's open house, which was hosted by Martin Army Community Hospital, invited visitors in to tour the new facility.
News Leader 9 spoke with Tammy Money with the Department of Behavior Health about how this new clinic will help Fort Benning's 3rd Brigade soldiers.
"I think that they're glad we're here. They told me coming back that they're glad, some of them are hesitant, but we make them feel warm and welcome because it is in their workplace sitting here so that takes some getting used to," said Money. "But they're glad we're here and that has helped some that may not have gotten services before see us, and with the calls that I make they're invited in so we're seeing more patients of the problem we have stopped."
The staff of the new health clinic is highly trained and will be able to help diagnose and treat the mental and behavioral effects of war.
