MONTGOMERY, AL (WTVM) - The Alabama Department of Education uncovers more cases of grade changing in Montgomery Public Schools.
Last year, allegations surfaced that accused the school district of grade changing. The investigation began last October when the Montgomery Advertiser wrote several stories about current and former employees who said they witnessed the infractions.
Montgomery Superintendent Barbara Thompson held a news conference in an effort to ensure transparency in the ongoing probe. She says the school district was not told how many additional employees are involved, who they are, or the schools where they are assigned.
There were six employees initially implicated in the investigation. Five are still on the payroll, but on administrative leave.
The sixth was fired for other reasons.
