Woman indicted for murder contract

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Dougherty County grand jury indicted 51 year old Sara Robin Galt, AKA Sara Marshall, in a murder for hire plot Thursday.

The jury returned an indictment of three counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, and six counts of criminal attempt to commit aggravated assault.

The District Attorney's office says that Galt tried to hire Antonio Davis, Kei Kei Johnson, and Marnesha Lockett to kill another 16 year old girl.

The potential victim and Galt's daughter were previously involved in an altercation at the Superior Creek Lodge, and Galt wanted her dead, or at least beaten up.

They say the offer was $5,000 to kill the girl, and $1,000 to beat her up.  The three people went to authorities and reported the offer, and Galt was arrested.

"Represented that she would pay five thousand dollars to have the person killed, or one thousand dollars just to have her beaten," said Dougherty D.A.  Greg Edwards.

Galt was arrested June 24th. Superior Creek Lodge soon evicted Galt and her family.

She's out of jail on bond and could get up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
