COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

With 6:25 left in the fourth quarter and both teams ready to put a lid on a game that was temporarily suspended due to a lengthy weather delay, a clipping penalty on North Carolina quickly put the fear of God into many South Carolina fans.

The penalty went against North Carolina's Kiaro Holts and cost the Tar Heels 15 yards after quarterback Bryn Renner picks up a quick first down.

In the play, Holts appears to fall into junior defensive end Jadeveon Clowney's right leg. Clowney got up from the play with a noticable limp, but sustained no long-term injury.

The discussion among Gamecock fans is if the clip was intentional or accidental.

In his post-game comments, Clowney didn't have much to say about the play that could have been much, much worse.

"I really don't pay attention," said Clowney in his post-game comments. "If the ref doesn't see it, I don't say anything. I just continue to rush and try and make plays."

The Gamecocks would go on to defeat the Tar Heels 27 - 10.
