FLAGSTAFF, AZ (CBS5) -

A woman was rescued on Mount Elden Tuesday after injuring her knee hiking.

The Coconino County Sheriff's Office said four agencies responded and hiked up to her location about a half-mile below the lookout tower on Eden Lookout Trail.

CCSO said the hiker was difficult to get to because of the steep trail and thunderstorms in the area.

Rescuers got to her about 11:38 a.m. and she made it to the ambulance at 2:16 p.m., according to CCSO.

She was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries.

The sheriff's Search and Rescue team is reminding hikers of 10 essentials:

  • Water and food
  • Extra clothing for the conditions
  • Navigation equipment such as a map, compass or GPS
  • Flashlight
  • First-aid kit
  • Shelter material like large bag or blanket
  • Matches to start a fire
  • Pocket knife
  • Whistle and signal mirror
