LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) -

Hundreds of new jobs could be coming to LaGrange.

Tuesday, the Troup County Commission approved a memorandum of understanding for the proposed Hyundai plant in West Point. It is the first step in making the plant official.

The $35 million plant is slated to be built on Kia Parkway, just north of the West Point Fire Station.

It is expected to bring 300 new jobs within the first two years of production.
