MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

If you're a parent, picture yourself deployed overseas, unable to see your young children for months at a time. Thursday, a Montgomery soldier got the chance to surprise his daughter just hours after returning home.

Staff Sergeant Nathan Bentley of the U.S. Air Force made the special trip to his daughter's class at Dalraida School, the long quiet walk down the hallways quickly interrupted by her excitement. She was very happy to see her father.

A movie was playing and the lights were off in the girl's classroom. Bentley stepped into the room, and after a few delayed seconds.... "Daddy!!!", young Alta screamed. "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy! I love you!!!" she continued.

After the lights came on, the entire class got a chance to see their friend hugging and holding her father, getting showered with kisses and getting a chance to reconnect after his trip to Afghanistan.

"I've only been back a few hours," Bentley said when asked how long he'd been home. "I figured instead of her surprising me, I would surprise her."

Bentley got a chance to meet his daughter's friends and to see where she sits in class.

The soldier says he's been gone for more than 7 months, and the time away from his children has been difficult.  When asked what the family would do now? "Probably just go have fun," Bentley said.
