(WTVM) -

A nationally known cat burglar is being blamed for a rash of high-end silver thefts in the Green Island Hills neighborhood.

News Leader 9's Dante Renzulli investigated this story when the thefts first happened earlier this year

We brought you news of the arrest of Blane David Nordahl, better known as "Burglar to the Stars," when he was captured by sheriff's deputies in Florida just last month.

Until now, police in Columbus did not have enough evidence to charge him with the crimes committed locally. Nordahl is accused of breaking into million dollar mansions across the country and stealing the silver.

Police say he's known by his signature skill of bypassing alarms and using a silver test kit to make sure he's getting the purest quality silver.

In addition to targeting select addresses in the Green Island Hills neighborhood of Columbus, Nordahl has been convicted of breaking into the homes of celebrities like Bruce Springsteen and Ivana Trump.

Local victims did not feel honored to be part of this exclusive list of targets and they tell us they're very happy to see the latest developments in this case.
