Bikes on Broadway on Bay Avenue, same great event

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The annual fundraiser event known as "Bikes on Broadway" is now moving to Bay Avenue.

The crowds have grown and there are more vendors, so the new location next to the river will triple the amount of space available for the event. There will also be plenty of bike parking and space for cars as well. 

Bikes on Broadway is a fundraiser for Our House, a group home for kids in the Columbus area. The home currently has 38 children who live there. Our House keeps the children off of the streets, providing everything they need, including love and hope.

There is no entrance fee to get into Bikes on Broadway.

The event will still involve everything it had on Broadway, plus food and adult beverages.

Bikes on Broadway on Bay Avenue will begin Friday, September 13 2013, at 3 p.m., and run through Saturday, September 14.  

Rob Carter from ROCK 103 will be broadcasting his entire show live from the event at 4 p.m. Dawn Cox and Bruce Almighty from ROCK 103 will also make appearances.

There will be several live performances starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with Spent, and Band of Thieves will perform at 9 p.m. Between the bands at 8:30 p.m. there will be the National Anthem, Invocation, and salute to the military, police, firefighters and paramedics.

Saturday morning will begin early at 9 a.m. with registration for the Dice Run, which begins at 10 a.m. There will be several flights, and high rollers will win $250. Dice Run packets are $35 for a single rider which includes a dice hand and a event T-shirt. Double riders are $45 and you get 2 dice hands and 2 T-shirts. You don't have to ride to participate.

There will be a ride to the Iron Cross and Crossmen Motorcycle Club's Clubhouse for their annual Open House.

There will be Rock ‘n' Roll Runs all day with live music starting at 1:30 p.m. with The Erin Hill Band. Zero 260 is playing at 4 p.m., Haywire is playing at 6:30 p.m., and Vinyl Radio will be playing at 9 p.m.

There will be 50/50 drawings both nights with half the pot going to the winner.

Raffle tickets will be on sale for $25. The first place winner will get a 4 day-3 night stay at the IP Resort and Casino in Biloxi Mississippi and a $300.00 Visa gift card. Second place prize is a trailer from Columbus Discount Trailer Sales. Third Place is a freezer from Daniel Appliance Sales.  

There will be a kids' play area with giant inflatable slides. There is a $5.00 charge for the inflatables.

So far, 72 vendors have signed-up to be present.

The Southern Cruisers Riding Club is a non-profit club. every penny the event raises goes to Our House.

Directions to Bay Ave are as follows. Go to 10th Street downtown and head for the river. It turns in Bay Avenue. If you are in a car you will enter from 11th Street off of Front Avenue. There is plenty of car parking with-in a block of the event on Front Ave. and a parking garage on Front Avenue.
