(WTVM) - Muscogee County Schools now have a new assistant superintendent after the school board made the announcement at Monday night's meeting.
The vote was unanimous – Rebecca Braaten is the new assistant superintendent for the district.
Additionally, Elementary School Number Seven is now called Dorothy Height Elementary School. Some board members argued the school should be named after a local person.
A majority of the members claim the school needs to be named after someone who portrays strong leadership instead.
