PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -

Phenix City Mayor Eddie Lowe announced that it's time for his town to finally break away from the negative reputation of the past.

Mayor Lowe unveiled the new motto at a news conference titled: Positively Phenix City - Come Grow With Us.

The slogan will be seen throughout the area, designed to showcase the city's opportunity and revitalization. The Mayor says there are now ten positive things to say about Phenix City for every one negative remark he has heard.

"What we're going to do is, we're going to wag our own tail. We're going to let everybody know all the positive things that we're doing here in Phenix City for the citizen. It's going to be all over the city and anything that we're doing, you're going to see them pop up all over the city, but particularly at places where we have building sites going on," says Mayor Lowe.

Look for the new slogans to be featured at projects throughout the city.
