BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Wednesday at 5 p.m., we introduced you to Oona, a Standard Poodle who showed off some Tide Pride for a good cause. We also found a four-legged pup who roots for the Auburn Tigers.

Normally Popeye is one color. But this football season the stripes along his coat will tell you which team he roots for. It runs in the family.

Popeye's owner, Dr. Andy Sokol, is a veterinarian and a diehard Auburn fan. Two weeks before kick-off the groomers at the clinic wanted to get Popeye football ready.

"First I thought they were going to shave an Alabama logo in him," said Sokol.

After knowing they wouldn't do such a thing Sokol handed Popeye over and let groomer take control. A couple of hours later Sokul was amazed.

"When I walked in the clinic everyone said have you seen Popeye? Have you seen Popeye?" he said.

So, how did Popeye turn into a tiger within a hour?

"We had a picture of a tiger just to go by and we took the all natural dye and we took a sponge brush and just brushed on the stripes," groomer and owner of Wet Nose Dog Spa, Molly Moseley, said.

Sokol said he's in love with Popeye's new look. But what does Popeye think?

"He just noticed the attention. Popeye is a very happy, happy confident dog and then suddenly he's getting even more attention and he just ate it up," Sokol said.

But like anyone who has ever had their hair done there is some upkeep.

"Popeye is going to have to get his roots done," said Sokol.

Popeye's dye is an all natural product made out of vegetables so it will not harm him or his skin.
