The queen of Southern cuisine is making her first appearance in Savannah since a federal judge signed a motion to dismiss a sexual harassment and workplace discrimination lawsuit against Deen last month.
Fans lined up early outside Paula Deen's restaurant the Lady & Sons on Congress Street in the Savannah Historic District for a book signing. Deen's son Jamie just published a new cookbook called "Jamie Deen's Good Food". The signing is part of a nationwide book tour. Get book tour schedule.
Deen has kept a low profile over the last couple of months. She greeted fans at the Lady & Sons. It's her first public appearance in Savannah since reports came out that she had admitted to using racial slurs in a deposition, which resulted in many companies cutting ties with her.
Deen was out to support her son and his new cookbook. The book signing runs until 4 p.m. She made her first public appearance just a few days ago in Houston.
