WOODVILLE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Woodville family is going to great lengths to get help for their daughter who needs a kidney and liver transplant.

Camille Osborn, born February 19, 2012, was diagnosed with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease and Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis.

"Her kidneys were so large and didn't function at all," said Casey Osborn, Camille's mother. "[Doctors] ended up removing both of them when she was 5 days old."

Due to her illness, Camille has to go through dialysis, a medical filtering process, for 12 hours a day in order to remove waste from her body. Her father, Kyle Osborn, says learning the process was challenging.

"It was scary at first," said Kyle. "Of course, it's hard, but once you get a routine down and you know what you have to do in a day, it gets pretty easy. It's routine now. Just hook her up...unhook her every day," said Kyle.

As most children Camille's age start to explore new foods, Camille can only be fed through a tube.

The Osborn family, who takes on the day to day challenges with smiles, is a step closer to getting Camille healthier.

The fiancé of Casey's uncle is in the process of donating a kidney to Camille.

"It's a pretty extensive process that we started in January of this year. There's quite a bit of testing and things that you have to get through before you're approved to become a living donor," said Casey. "You have to be the healthiest of healthy."

In order to go through with the transplant, the family must travel six hours away to Milwaukee,Wisconsin, for the procedure. They will likely have to remain there for 30 days as Camille recovers.

The community of Woodville is coming together to support the family with their medical-related expenses. Supporters are hoping to raise $50,00 through fundraisers and other donations.
