COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A Columbus woman accused of filing more than $260,000 in false claims has been arrested after being federally indicted last month.

Della Upshaw has been charged with Theft by Taking and Unlawful Acts Violations.

She was arrested on Oct. 9 and released the same day.

The Muscogee County grand jury returned an indictment against Upshaw for two counts of Medicaid fraud. Officials say from 2009-2011 Upshaw filed several false claims for services that were not provided to patients.

An investigation also claims Upshaw billed patients after they had been discharged. In all, officials say she received more than $269,000 in fraudulent payments.

Upshaw owns Senior Care of Columbus and Reaching Out Healthcare.
